Who is (not)afraid of the sanitary
sanitarna ispekciska kontrola 2007
Republic Sanitary Inspection prepares its annual report which will soon be published in the form of comparative analyses of the results from this and previous year, so that all the changes on the market can be registered. In general, as we are informed by the chief of this department, Zoran Panajotovic, this year’s indicators are quite encouraging. This shift forward, according to his opinion, is not only the consequence of continuous sanitary control, but also, as he assumes, of the owners of the objects under the sanitary supervision need to advance their business and survive on a very competitive market. As one more factor which improved sanitary validity, Panajotovic states increased courts’ promptness.

- We no longer wait for two years for the judgment and don’t have a bulk of rejected claims submitted to the magistrates which have become out-of-dated. Judgments are now being made latest five to six months since the submission of the claim, so that now inspectors do not work in vain any longer – explains Market’s interlocutor.

This year, Republic Sanitary Inspection has, beside what falls under operational activities and continuous sanitary control, set as its priority rising of the quality in inspection supervision. Lot of attention is being paid to creation of basic documentation about the supervised objects, as well as to classification of these objects according to the degree of risk, in order to, on the basis of ordered data, henceforth be able to set priority and dynamics of inspections.

- We are trying to, within the scope of the sector for sanitary supervision, change report and plan tables we had so far, since the market requires also other data which we were not obliged to obtain so far. This way, we will have more complete records and more complete way of reporting – says Panajotovic. Contribution to this will be, as he states, given in considerable amount by cooperation with the Belgrade Movement for Consumers Protection, which sanitary inspection will, within the working plan for year 2007, harmonize its activities with.

FISH VALID

One of the priorities in the work of Republic Sanitary Inspection in December, conditioned by the lenten food and festive customs, was control of the fish and fish products. Plan of the control included 117 out of around 234 representative fish stores in Belgrade. 200 samples of domestic, imported, fresh, frozen, river and sea fish were taken. Until now, 76 samples have been processed and all of them turned out to be sanitary valid and complete results are expected very soon.

- First impression is that offer on our market satisfies all hygienic-safety criteria. All the parameters regarding bacteriological validity were taken into consideration, and also some specific elements such as histamine and poly-chlorinated organic moderated reactors, substances which, beside alloy heavy, represent main provocative for health damages. All until now examined samples are valid – says Panajotovic, and adds that more then 50%, and sometimes even 70% of objects which hold specific goods which is controlled are always controlled.
