Good results for Serbian confectionaries

Around 100 manufacturers (20 major) operate within the confectionary industry of Serbia, producing and delivering more than 130,000 tons of confectionary products to the market. The production in this branch of commerce exceeds the demand in today's market because when the factories were built they had planned on fulfilling the needs of the entire former Yugoslavia. Production in the confectionary industry has grown in the past few years. In 2006 it produced 6,509 tons or 5.2% more than in 2005.
Within the structure of production of confectionary products the most important group consists of fine baked goods (86,819 tons or two thirds of the entire production of confectionary products), after that comes chocolate and chocolate based goods (36,186 tons), with a market share of a little less than one third, and owning the smallest stake is candy products (8,652 tons).
