Merchants should take care about small things. One should not pay attention to pounds but to pennies. For the sake of keeping its style, the merchant should return the money or change the product for the unsatisfied customer. Even on the expense of suffering the loss, since in the case it does not do that, it will loose much more. It is not for no reason that the car producers withdraw all the cars from the series for which they find to have a fault. Buyers are cruel. If they loose the trust, they will not buy any longer.
Since this year’s World Consumers Day the news is SMS service for the consumers, launched by National Consumers Organization and MTS. This is, by the way, unique information service which developed European countries do not have yet. It is about a service which will assure citizens of Serbia get important information about the market, prices, inspection reports… via their mobile phones.
Citizens who wish to receive SMS consumer information should send application SMS message on the number 7744. They should indicate their name and surname, date of birth, and place of residence. Application SMS price is ten dinars, VAT excluded. All the messages got through this service are free-of-charge.
In the Serbian National Consumers Organization (NOPS), which gathers around thirty consumer associations, they say that they will once-twice in a week send, through mobile operators, information, educational messages, and when necessary, that is in case of extraordinary situations, messages to warn citizens. They will inform them about new products, but also about tested items, so that consumers can be able to get a real image about a particular product. From the consumers associations they emphasise their willingness to, if needed, react also in the alarming situations, when they will react on the daily basis and send information.
Consumers themselves, when they want to find out more about a goods or services (for example, whether a certain additive or emulsifying agent is forbidden, or whether it is of herbal or animal origin) will be enabled to get the information by typing certain designations and sending SMS to the NOPS’s number. Same way, they will get, for example, information whether a certain service or store is a general distributor for a certain commercial brand.
